About This Quote

I believe that torture is something that can break one’s spirit. It is possible for a person to be broken by torture, but after being broken, there is no other place that can be home. It will always feel like a place that doesn't belong in the world. This quote reminds me of another quote: "Home is where we make it." This saying can be applied to and taken from the poem: "Home is where the heart is." I like this idea, because home does not need to be a physical place.
